This is a tolerance analysis tool for designing mechanical assemblies.
This is an Excel based tool that helps analyze tolerances in a mechanical assembly with multiple stack ups. If the tolerance analysis is not correct, assemblies will not work properly, even though individual components might have been manufactured correctly. Product design engineers need to perform a stringent tolerance analysis. Performance as well as cost related factors could be studied. As this analysis is quite tedious, many a times this gets skipped. This tool makes it quite simple to analyze complex assemblies with up to three stack ups. This tool is an economical solution compared to many other high end tools that are expensive. Less expensive tools that are Excel based are often not very capable ones. Quite often these simplistic tools only consider a single stack-up. Most real-life assemblies have multiple configurations and dimensions that may be a part of multiple stack ups. This tool makes sense in such situations and does a good job.
This tool lets you use up to 200 tolerance stack ups with associative dimension management. Stack ups to be considered can be linear as well as non-linear stack-ups. If the same dimension is used in more than one place, you will get an alert. You can decide if the duplication is intentional and as designed. You are able to analyze the tolerances with nominal or actual data. A mix of the two could be used too. Graphs and charts can help understand the analysis data easily. A tolerance analysis spreadsheet is generated automatically. This sheet summarizes the results on one page in a professional-looking report. You would not need any extensive explanations for presentation to the customer then. Each stack up is associated with a bell curve showing predicted results within user-specified limits. This is a very good product.
